About US

About Me.

Daniel Jefferson is the President of EmpowerU Network, where he leads the overall vision, policy implementation, and day-to-day operations of the organization. As both a hands-on mentor and program leader, he is deeply involved in staff training, youth guidance, and ensuring that services are delivered with integrity and impact.

Daniel was inspired to launch EmpowerU after witnessing the growing needs of underserved youth and the clear gaps in support services. As someone who once navigated similar barriers, he brings a personal understanding to the challenges youth face—and a commitment to walking with them toward stability and success.

Daniel brings over 15 years of experience in youth engagement. His leadership includes four years as Assistant Executive Director for a foster agency, three years running an emergency foster care and mentorship service, and more than a decade coaching and mentoring youth in the community. In 2013, he launched a program focused on youth stabilization and successful family or programmatic reentry.

Known for his strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, Daniel has worked closely with DHS, juvenile courts, and BRS providers to ensure youth receive holistic, consistent support. Under his leadership, EmpowerU has implemented structured intake, mentorship, and tracking systems designed to foster resilience and improve long-term outcomes.

Education

2014 - 2016

Bachelor of Arts in Social Science
Washington State University

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Washington State University, with a primary concentration in Psychology and a secondary concentration in Human Development. I also earned a certificate in Human Services Case Management and Administration. My studies gave me a strong foundation in understanding behavior, trauma, and lifespan development—skills essential to working with youth and families. Through this academic training, I built core competencies in communication, service coordination, and program planning that directly support my work in mentorship and youth development.

2011-2013

Bachelor of Arts in Ministry
International College of Ministry

I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry from the International College of Ministry. The program originally focused on Christian counseling, but was transitioned by the institution to a Ministry degree, reflecting their belief that effective ministry includes holistic emotional and spiritual care. This training equipped me to connect with individuals on a deeper, faith-based level—offering strength, comfort, and guidance as they worked through personal challenges. It gave me a unique, compassionate approach to communication and counseling that complements my work with youth and families facing complex emotional and life issues.

Our Mission and Vision

Who We Are

Empower U Network is dedicated to supporting African American and BIPOC youth, offering mentoring and early intervention to help them combat risks such as gang involvement and at-risk behaviors. We provide crucial academic support and resources for family stability.

Additionally, we focus on reentry support, mentorship, and creating employment pathways for juveniles involved with the justice system. Our aim is to cultivate resilient, goal-driven leaders who positively impact their communities and strive for a brighter future.
